IN ISLA'S WORDS
Isla Noon is part of the new generation of alt-pop artists.
Born in Cape Town and raised in Auckland after moving to New Zealand at age six, she began writing songs at eight and went on to study the Bachelor of Music in Popular Music at the University of Auckland, training pop songwriting as a serious discipline alongside future stars like Balu Brigada, Navvy and Openside.
In 2025 Isla Noon broke through with Body and Her, two searingly honest singles that revealed a rare lyrical precision, drawing comparisons to Robyn and Tove Lo. They formed the emotional core of her acclaimed 2025 debut album, Out of Body.
This year, she's teamed up with acclaimed producer Justyn Pilbrow (Elemeno P, The Neighbourhood's I Love You) to reimagine that album as Out of Body (REDUX) which is a crystalline and atmospheric seven-track reworking centred on a radically different take on Her.
